March Happening

Here's what I've been working on the last couple of weeks.
The first project I worked on was an easy one hour project.  My oldest just turned 8 and he has now joined the Cub Scouts, so I thought he might need a Cub Scout organizer.  Alright- I wanted to make one- so I wasn't looking for all the accessories every week.  It's perfect since his shirt can hang on the hanger and everything is in one place.

My youngest turned two on Friday so I made him this cute baby doll basket.  The pattern is from MADE.
It's a great pattern and was very easy to follow.  I wanted it to be cute but also suitable for a boy.  And the little blanket is the first quilt I actually quilted with my machine.  It's just straight lines-but I was super pleased with how it turned out.

I also took the Piece of Cake 3 quilt (pattern found at Thimble Blossom) to the quilter and a week later picked it up. I chose to have roses quilted on it.  Here's a close up picture.
I just love it!!

Then over the next several evenings I put the binding on it.  I'm super excited to give it to my mom- I hope she likes it.
But I'm still working on the coordinating pillow.

The pattern for the pillow is from Happy Quilting Melissa Star Light Star Bright Quilt-along.  I have to quilt the top and add the envelope part of the pillow.
Hopefully I'll finish it this week.

Back to blogging!!!

It's been a long time and maybe no one will ever read this, but I've think I might start blogging again. We'll see what happens.   I just want to document what I've been up too.
Over the last couple of months I've started quilting again and I love it!!!!
I'm almost done with the two older boys birthday gifts.  Good thing too, since the first birthday is later this month.

I made two BYU quilts!!! I used the pattern Rah, Rah Rally from Melissa at Happy Quilting Melissa.  The pictures above are of the quilt before I took them to the quilters (I had them long-arm quilted)
A week later I picked them up.  I already finished the binding on one and I'm working on the second one.

I also just finished another quilt from a Craftsy class : Pre-Cut Piecing by Camille Roskelley
I just finished the top and I pieced the back but I have yet to take it to the quilter.  The quilt pattern is Piece of Cake from Thimbleblossoms.  I also started working on a pillow to go with it.
This pillow is part of Happy Quilting Melissa Star Light Star Bright quilt along.

I'm also taking a block of the month class from American Quilting called Saturday Sampler.  Here's my block for February
It took a lot longer then I thought it would but I really like it.  I think it's pretty cute.  I was part of this block of the month class last year and I ended up with a cute quilt that I ended up giving to my grandparents
I never did take a picture of the finished project but here is one before it was quilted and bound.

I have been doing more then just quilting as well this past month I was part of an Anything Goes Craft Exchange.  13 ladies got together we each made 13 of the same craft and then exchanged them so everyone went home with one of everything.  It was so much fun to sit and talk and laugh.
My first project failed so I went with another idea, these paper mâché Easter eggs.
They turned out cute, hopefully the ladies liked them.
Well that's what I was up too this last month.
I sure do love homemade!!!

I'm Alive

It has been a long time, but I'm back and have a couple of project to share.
So the last project I posted was the car mats. As I said those were made in preparation for our trip to Argentina and Peru. (Which by the way was wonderful!!!)
I also made a couple of crayon rolls as well for the boys.
For these crayon rolls I used this tutorial from The Pleated Poppy
